MLB Prospect Mike Nolan Fighting For His Life After Shooting

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Oakland Athletics' prospect Mike Nolan is fighting for his life after being shot during an altercation in the parking lot of a Yonkers fast food restaurant early Friday morning.

Nolan, 23, is listed in extremely critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx after being shot twice around 12:30 a.m. while sitting in a Mercedes in the Burger King parking lot near the Cross County Shopping Center.

Police believe the shooting was related to drag racing that occurred in the area, according to WABC-TV.

Nolan is a 6-foot-7 left-handed pitcher and Saunders High School alum who was drafted by Oakland in the 18th round of the 2014 draft.
